I dont remember Kool G Rap getting too many chances to perform on live TV, which makes this clip a real treat.
I wasn’t sure how the happy-go-lucky Uptown Comedy Club crowd was going to respond when someone like G Rap rolled in. But they threw down, watch the crowd response on “Buck, buck, buck, take that wit cha on the way down”.

A poignant, powerful video from one of Chicago’s fastest rising stars. The track was inspired by the heartbreaking incident at Virginia Tech, and in an unfortunate twist of fate, was recorded on February 14th, 2008. After finishing the session Kidd jumped in his car and turned on the radio, and only then learned of the shooting at nearby Northern Illinois University. The video’s debut is extremely timely. With the country at war, school shootings still prevalent, and random gun violence ramping up (Kidd’s hometown of Chicago is having one of its most violent summers in history), Kidd is spreading a positive message that needs to be heard.

Seeing that almost everything in the music business is digital now, no album is invincible… they all leak around 10 days before their release date, how do you feel about your album being leaked?
My album was leaked about 3 days before street, which is an amazing amount of time if you consider that most people get hit a week or two before the slated release date. And still even though that was the case, we had a worldwide first week of about 9,000 albums sold. I have gotten a big push from digital download but I am not sure if I am going to completely convert the method of delivery in the music to an electronic one but I do take more notice of it. The downloading never cut too far into any of the work that I did, if anything it helped a lot during the first 2 albums that I ever did.
